September 11, 2001, changed the face of the planet. A change greater than any single event since World War II. The images of that day are seared in everyone's memories. Especially the World Trade Center Towers in New York City. Billowing thick black smoke before they crumbled.

But before their collapse, brave first responders from all over the city were attempting to rescue Americans and others trapped in those doomed buildings.

The brave souls of New York Fire Department Ladder 3 were a team of those brave souls. Their heroism, bravery, and selflessness, in blatant defiance of an order to retreat from the doomed Twin Towers, cost them their lives as they attempted to rescue trapped victims. These men are legends.

Legends who left this world too early. Men who should be honored and remembered by all generations. Men of a rare breed.

We salute these American Heroes. And we honor their memory and preserve their legacy through the DIA 3 Truck T-Shirt! It's the least we can do for these heroes.

Never forget these final words. Final words captured of a celebrated officer on Ladder 3 communicating the intentions of his brave crew.

Fire Captain (FDNY 3 Truck/Ladder 3):
“I’m on the 35th floor, okay, okay?
Just relay to the command post we’re trying to get up.
There’s numerous civilians at all stairwells, numerous burn injuries are coming down.
I’m trying to send them down first.
Apparently, it’s above the 75th floor.
I don’t know if they got there yet. Okay.
Three Truck and we are still heading up.
Okay? Thank you.”
Command Post to Ladder 3:
“Command Post to Ladder 3, get out of the building!”
Fire Captain
“This is the officer of Ladder Co. 3. I refuse the order!
I am on the 44th floor and we have too many burned people with me.
I'm not leaving them!”
